Good Shepherd has prayer teams to assist in lifting
intercessory prayers to God on behalf of your loved ones. We welcome you to participate.
Anyone may add prayer requests to the services on Sunday
morning. Prior to the service, simply
write the name(s) under the proper heading on the Prayers
of the People sheet that is found on the lectern in the Narthex. The names added here are not automatically
added to either the printed prayer list or the prayer chain.
There is a PRAYER LIST for those with on-going
concerns. Every Sunday, the list is
published in our bulletin. You may phone
the church office to provide names and we encourage everyone to take the list
home and add those people to your prayers during the week. We appreciate having information on their
progress. Our lists can get quite long,
but we do not want to remove a person’s name before it is time. Because of this, it is also helpful to know
when we can remove the person’s name.
Prayer Chain
When the concern is of a more urgent nature, as when someone
is going to undergo surgery or has a critical concern, there is a PRAYER CHAIN that will offer prayers for particular conditions and times.
Members of the prayer chain respond to the needs of those
in our parish either through a phone-based chain or via
email.
For prayer request or if you are interested in becoming part of the Good
Shepherd prayer chain, please contact Laura Armatoor Alta Light.
Prayer for Bishop Search
We give you thanks, Gracious God, for your goodness in bestowing upon the Church the gift of the Episcopate and its heritage in this Diocese. Grant that in our serach fo the eighth Bishop of West Missouri, we may be open to your will, receptive of your guidance, and ready in obedience. May the Holy Spirit illumine our hearts and minds as we live into the vision that is before us. Let this occasion of change be a time to build trust and increase understanding, that Christ's love may be made known between and amoung us, that your will may be done; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, on God, no and forever. Amen
