Cursillo
Cursillo is intended to help Christians learn and live what is
fundamental to them as a Christian, and to help these same
Christians discover and live out a personal vocation. Cursillo
is a movement of the Episcopal Church, under the authority
of the Presiding Bishop and Diocesan Bishops. The goal of
Cursillo is to bring the world to Christ by empowering adult
Christian leaders through the use of a specific method,
which equips and encourages Christians to live out their
baptismal Covenant to serve Christ.
Check the bulletin board for
those among us. Please talk with them about Cursillo. They would love to be your
sponsor. For more information see the track rack for brochures or
click here for the National Episcopal Cursillo website.
Education for Ministry
What does it mean to develop a personal faith?
What does it mean to discern God's call in your life?
What do the Scriptures really say?
Is there any fresh heresy under the sun?
If you like to learn in community, and if you like good
questions better than easy answers, then you may want to
know about Education for Ministry.
Here is what the Blue Book for the General Convention of the
Episcopal Church has to say about EfM:
EDUCATION FOR MINISTRY is the premier program for adult
Christian education in the Episcopal Church. It fosters
theological reflection based on an informed understanding
of the Christian tradition, leading to baptismal ministry in the
world.
Education for Ministry groups will be starting up again in
September. Kristin Niederberger mentors a group that meets at Grace & Holy
Trinity Cathedral from 9:15 until noon on Tuesdays, and she
would love to answer your questions and tell you more about
EfM. She can also help you contact mentors for groups that
meet at different times. For more information, you can visit
the EfM website at: www.sewanee.edu/EFM/index.htm.
